Returning home after a longer international assignment is often unexpectedly difficult. Research has stressed for years that reintegration measures are necessary but most companies do not see it this way.
The acquired competences and experience of those returning are often hardly used in companies. Current studies show that a return is only seamless in 5-10% of cases. Thus it is no wonder that a quarter of all employees leave their company within a year of returning as a result of disappointment and demotivation.
